A local pub somewhere in an ally, where I tend to go to play some pool, or throw some darts. This is also a place I usually meet people who need some muscle. (Can be seen as neutral ground as It has no ties to Government or Resistance as of yet)

The Leprechaun Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Leprechaun   The Leprechaun EmptyThu Nov 19, 2009 4:59 pm

After dropping off the crate of supply's I felt like throwing some darts at my pub, If someone needed me they knew where to find me. The resistance usually called the pub if they needed my muscle instead some home number somewhere.

As walked inside 'Bob' the barman greeted me and threw a shifty look at a guy in the back, he'd usually do that if there was a trouble maker in the house. We sort of completed each other, Bob took my calls, I kicked out trouble makers, a nice deal if I may say so. I took a barstool and sat down, ordering a beer, while keeping an eye on the trouble maker. "Hows Business?" "Same Ol', Same Old." He wasn't his chatty self, guess this trouble maker was getting on his nerve. "Who's Spikey?" While talking I threw a look towards the trouble maker. "Dunno really, never seen 'im before, came walkin' in all agitated. Yelled at Sophie for bumpin' in to him while she brought some drinks to the lads." Sophie's the waitress in this place, pretty las, blond hair so not really my type. "I'll check it out, gimme an other beer for spikey." As Bob poured the other beer I eyed the trouble maker, He had spikey hair hence the nickname, black leather jacket, Looking around shifty as if he was waiting for someone. Now that Bob handed me the second beer I walked towards Spikey, with the two beers, one full, one half full.

"What brings you here? Not many strange peeps come to this place."
"None of your business..." His voice although a bit shakey, he tried to make it sound threatening.
"Now now, I came all the way over here to offer you a drink. I even let it slide you yelled at Sophie, and you start threatening me all of the sudden? Skip to second base why won't you." I sat down next to him, slamming both beers on the table, spilling a bit of the fullest one.
"Oh Get lost, I don't need your drink."
"Suit yourself" I finished my own drink in one gulp, so I could start on the second one. Bob yelled something at me now"Oi JohnnyBoy take it slow will ya, its still in the afternoon." I ignored it.
"So... Are you gonna spill it, or I gonna have to take this outside, I Don't like gettin' ordered around..." While saying this I grabbed my gloves which were hiding in my back pockets, after grabbing them I started by putting on the left one first.
"Wait what are you doing? what are those?"
"These? Oh don't tell me you've never seen gloves before..." I now finished off putting on my right glove. They looked quite menacing, with all those bolts and all.
"Oh now you don't wanna do that..." Fear flashed through his eyes.
"Well lets see, you yelled at Sophie, you threatened me, you threatened me after being warned, Oh I think I do." Slowly while talking a smile formed on my face.
"Try to keep the table in one piece this time will ya?" Bob yelled.
"But seeing as you yelled at Sophie first lets let her decide what to do shall we? Oh Sophie could you here for a minute, love?"
"Whatya want honey?" She had a terrible accent, that also contributed to me not liking her liking her.
"What do you think we should do with this lovely young lad?"
"Oh could you like pin him to the wall and play some dart, like the last guy" She knew I was playing with him a bit, after all he wasn't the first trouble maker to come here. While she was talking Spikey was shifting his look between me and Sophie, his face filled with fear. "You know what, we had to redo the whole wall after that, you sucking at darts, lets just place him outside after all he just yelled at me." "Yes just let me continue my way outside." He said while focussing on me.
"Ah your no fun Sophie, I only was bad at dart cause you were distracting me..." I said while grabbing spikey by the T-shirt, Lifting him from his chair. Now that he was airborn he was struggling a bit, but nothing that would loosen my grip on his T-shirt. I carried him towards the door. "Sophie if you would be so kind." "Of course my knight in bolty armor." she said jokingly. She walked passed me to open the door so I could get through. When I got outside I dropped spikey on the ground, and released his shirt. "Now unless you gain some manners, I don't want to see you here again... Do I make myself clear?" I'll tell my friend and we'll be back!! He yelled while running away as fast as he could. I stepped inside again and walked towards the bar, "Darts?" "Darts!" Bob agreed.

( ( Emma if you' need me for the raid this'll be the place for you to contact me, unless you tell me while I drop of the crate at the HQ Razz) )

The Leprechaun Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Leprechaun   The Leprechaun EmptySun Nov 22, 2009 9:25 pm

Anna had gotten out of her car after parking close to the pub. It being afternoon, let the spaces near there be free for her car. She had just locked the car door when there was a buzzed cut guy and a spikey haired guy came out of the pub. Not knowing what was going on, Anna didn't want to interfere unless it was completely necessary. The buzzed cut guy let go of the spikey haired one and then the spikey one said he was going to tell his friend and come back. Anna wasn't gonna let a fight break out if she was there. She mind's well come back the next day to see if spikey there was going to come back with his friend as he said.

The buzzed cut guy then went back into the pub, and after a few seconds of waiting by her car, so did Anna. She wasn't too much of a drinker all that much, but a drink will help her unwind a bit before she had to go searching for that Sean guy again. Walking in, Anna went straight to the bar stool and looked around. "White Russian please." She said to Bob as he looked at her. As her drink was made, she looked around the bar more, seeing the buzzed cut guy was near her. She gave him a small smile and looked back at the pictures behind the bar where Bob was.

Soon, her drink was right in front of her and she put some money on the table to pay for it before taking a small sip.

The Leprechaun Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Leprechaun   The Leprechaun EmptySun Nov 22, 2009 10:05 pm

Claypoole continued his walk from the harbor at a leisurely pace, a bit at ease now that another horrid day was over. The first thing on Claypoole's mind now that he was "off-duty", the cartel equivalent of shore leave for him, was to get drunk, eat a bad burger from a bar, barf, get laid, and get some sleep until he was needed again.

However, that's how it USED to work for him every shore leave... Not this time. Claypoole stopped dead in his tracks as he remembered his little sister, and his mother. He couldn't piss away as much money on drinks like he used to... not with his mother dependent on him in the hospital. And he couldn't come home drunk, nor could he sleep around like he used to in the corp. Now he had to actually act like a parent, be responsible, and not risk doing anything stupid when he gets home... Claypoole finally keeps walking, getting over the mind numbing shock in his mind and gut wrenching grief in his stomach as he remembered all of it.

The bar eventually came into sight, and without thinking, Claypoole moved to walk straight through the door, forgetting about his firearms, and the bouncer. The bouncer knew him since Claypoole was a regular here nowadays, and knew right away Claypoole wouldn't be allowed to come straight in. The bouncer was actually a little bit smaller then Claypoole, but he had a taser, and not even a former combat marine screws with tasers in "civvies". The bouncer stepped in front of the door and pushed Claypoole back before he was even close enough to reach for the door

Nope. Not getting in. Hand over the weapons, you know the drill.

Claypoole unzips his jacket and pulls out the B&T MP9. Handing it over a bit bitterly, Claypoole immediately started to turn to get past the bouncer and into the bar again. As the bouncer started to open his mouth to say no again, knowing Claypoole always had a backup pistol around his ankle, Claypoole shot him "the look" that he had learned from Kazakov and Stones, and the bouncer immediately backed down. Claypoole wasn't in the mood to hand over that pistol. No. He never was anymore. Claypoole immediately stepped inside, bobbed and weaved through the crowds and tables, and sat right up at the bar-counter. As soon as someone (Anyone) who takes orders pays him any attention, Claypoole shouts out

Bourbon! Woodford preferably!

He imagined he could survive some bourbon.Once they acknowledged his order, Claypoole hops off the stool and makes his way over to the jukebox for a moment. He'd been here before, and knew this place was no exception to the reasons he hated jukeboxes. Still, he found what he normally put on when he got the chance--- AC/DC, "Have a drink on me". He immediately weaved his way back to the barcounter, took his seat again, and waited for his drink. As the sound of the music stared to blare, Claypoole bobbed his head to the rhythm, letting his apathetic, calloused blank "work" face melt away, and his characteristic smarta** self-assured smirk return.

OOC: Dangit, deleted my post at the harbor because I posted it under Stones, but I didn't copy it first...

The Leprechaun Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Leprechaun   The Leprechaun EmptyMon Nov 23, 2009 12:52 am

Now that Bob and I decided to play some dart, bob grabbed them and handed them to me. Shortly after a stunning brunette stepped inside the bar, could this be my lucky day? As I eyed her a little I saw Bob winking at me from he corner of my eye. Now that there was a new customer Bob could no longer play darts, so I sat back down on a bar stool next to the brunette. I now placing the darts on the bar, I wasn't gonna play darts on my own what's the fun in that? My second beer was brought to me by Sophie "Thanks Love", the brunette now ordered a drink aswell. "white russian..." I repeated in my head, what wrong with a good ol' beer? or a scotch? oh well. After Bob handed her the drink she gave me a smile, aw, I almost melted, I started smiling back.

Before I had a chance to do or say anything, an army figure stepped inside, the bouncer named Henk took a loot inside trying to make eye contact with me. Trying to let me know something was up, although I had seen him here before I still kept an eye on him just incase. Now that I could no longer keep my eye's on the lovely brunette, my smile faded away into a bit more serious look.

After he shouted his preferred drink to Bob, wonder why he shouted, it aint that busy here so Bob could easily hear him, he walked over to the jukebox. Maybe he shouted cause an explosion went off close to his head, messed up hearing, I'd know. After arriving at the Jukebox he put on an AC/DC number, and started bobbing his head to the rhythm, someone doing that can't be to bad can he? Besides someone rocking out on that jukebox can't have anything violent on his mind, this conclusion made me relax a bit smiling once more at the brunette.

Seeing as I already had one beer and was halfway with the second I decided to test my luck. "How You Doin'?"

PostSubject: Re: The Leprechaun   The Leprechaun EmptyTue Nov 24, 2009 12:10 am

Anna blushed a little as the guy with the buzzed cut hair smiled back at her. It wasn't a huge blush so it barely showed on her cheeks at all. As he turned away, so did she, looking back at the walls behind the counter. She then turned her head down and looked at her drink, remembering from before the burn of the alcohol in her mouth. She took a small sip again, and the burn she could feel again. It wasn't a very hurtful burn because of the little sips she was taking but they still hurt her a little. Anna put it all aside, not caring anymore.

Another man came in the pub and shouted his drink to Bob. Anna turned around in her seat to see him going over to the jukebox. He put on a song she really didn't know all that much. She mostly likely had only heard it a couple of times, if that.

She turned her head back to the guy with the buzzed cut hair once more as he started talking to her. "I'm good. How about you?" She asked back just to be friendly. She didn't want to cause a scene especially with a guy with all the muscles he had. Not that she couldn't take him on either. Only because she didn't feel like fighting at the moment. She only wanted to relax and get to know him.

PostSubject: Re: The Leprechaun   The Leprechaun EmptyTue Nov 24, 2009 12:19 am

After the words came out of my mouth I immagined a giant hammer hitting my head, darn it maybe I should have said something else, maybe I've scared here away. But before I could come to any sort of conclusion she talked back asking me how I was, phew I didn't make a complete fool out of myself! Happy dance! No wait that would definitly scare her away...

"Well considering I'm talking to a very pretty girl, I consider myself to be very lucky." I said with a smile on my face.

Maybe she was trying to pass the time by talking to me, maybe she was actaully interested in how I was... No wait I never met her before why would she be interested in that? Oh well either way she was talking to me so I'm happy.

Anna blushed a little more and this time you could somewhat see it if looking closely. She gave him a small smile while keeping one hand on her drink. She wasn't really use to compliments like that very much. She was never really noticed for her looks. Only for her grades. Anna took a sip of her drink before saying anything else. "Thanks." She said after the burning feeling had died down inside of her mouth.

Anna didn't really know what to say next. She wasn't used to talking about anything other then a school or training like subject. What was she suppose to say anyway? Was she suppose to compliment him back? Seemed like a good idea to do but she wasn't sure if she really should. In the end of another sip and burning feeling, she decided nothing would be best for now.

As she heard my complement she started to blush slightly followed by a thanks, I'm guessing she's not very used to getting complements, I wonder why. By now an awkward silence set in, darn it, if only I was a bit smarter, then I could think of some topics to talk about. Maybe I can tell her a joke to break the ice? but what kind of joke...? I looked at my beer, toying with the glass a bit, trying to think of a joke. Bob saw my frustration and jumped in, knowing she was drinking a white Russian.

"John why don't you tell her that joke, you know the one that always makes me laugh." I looked at him with a blank expression trying to think which one he meant. "You know... about that russian car?" I suddenly got a big smile on my face while remembering the joke.

"What do you call a Lada on a hill? That the one Bob?" He nodded and turned around to face sink and to wash the glasses once more. I now looked back at the girl once more awaiting her answer.

As Bob came near and spoke, Anna looked back at him with a sort of sideways head. She definitely has never heard of anything they were going to be telling her. But right away, she knew it had something to do with her drink when the word russian was said. Her attention was now focus on the two of them fully. Curiosity was making her concentrate on them, otherwise she would still be looking at her drink.

"Um, I don't know really." Anna said truthfully while turning her head some more so that she was facing him. She kept a hand lightly around her drink as she waited for the answer, not sure if she would get it at first. But she was going to try to.

PostSubject: Re: The Leprechaun   The Leprechaun EmptyTue Nov 24, 2009 11:43 am

"Its a bloody miracle!" I returned, after I said that I leaned towards the pretty girl a bit so I could whisper loud enough for Bob to hear. "to be honest I never really got the punch line, but it always cracks Bob up." After Bob heard the answer he was waving his head left to right a bit probably laughing. "Well I can't go explanin' it or there's no fun to it" I've thought about the clue many times, maybe its a miracle because Lada's are known to be tanks so it would be almost impossible? But that didn't seem to make any sense, tanks got up hills before. Maybe because they drink a whole lot, so it would be almost impossible to get the car up a hill without it going dry, but what if a tank station was close to a hill? In the end I decided the answer was beyond my comprehension and let it rest.

PostSubject: Re: The Leprechaun   The Leprechaun EmptyTue Nov 24, 2009 1:09 pm

i was bored and looking for somewhere to have a drink and some fun. i had taken off my work closes and was now wearing a pair of light blue, waist high jeans, a brown belt and a loose fitting black shirt that was tucked into my jeans with a pair of white sneakers. I had tied my black waist length hair into a plat.

I bounced into the pub and sat down on a stool at the counter. i didn't really fit in, considering what i was wearing but i didn't carer. i never really cared about what others thought of me much. i had a thought about what i wanted to drink.

"can i have a beer please? not to much foam if you don't mind. that stuffs gross" i said with a large grin on my face. As my drink was being made i turned in my seat and had a look around the pub. there weren't very many people here. besides the bar tender, there was a very large man and a young brunette woman talking in the seats next to me and a couple of people sitting at the tables. the bubble of talk was nice and so was the over all atmosphere. slightly threatening and yet friendly and relaxing. just the way i liked it.

The Leprechaun Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Leprechaun   The Leprechaun EmptyWed Nov 25, 2009 12:59 am

Claypoole's smirk grew into a smile as he got his bourbon, and the song started to pick up the pace. Claypoole took the glass and swirled it around gingerly, taking a sniff first to savor the Woodford, before he took a deep swig. That's the stuff. A lot sweeter then Scotch... Made in the US of A. Hell yeah.

Claypoole's relaxation almost immediately ended as someone plopped down in the empty barstool at the barcounter beside him. All it took was a quick glance and he recognized him as Eric "Ipog" Alvarez, a Crimson Cartel soldier. Claypoole in retrospect didn't even need to look at him to know who he was--- Ipog was notorious for his partying, and could be known by his thick mixed-scent of Tequila and Vodka. Alvarez started to try and talk to Claypoole in a quiet voice, but his voice ebbed and flowed, causing some parts of his speech (The one's Claypoole considered the worse) to be more audible then others.

Hey, dude, the boss's figured outs what sides we takin. We gonna...

Claypoole elbowed the soldier in the side immediately, trying to send him an initially gentle signal that this was not the place out of politeness. Alvarez stopped for a couple seconds, but then he opened his mouth to continue, and so Claypoole tried to reiterate the statement

Not here man. Not now. Talk to me later. Loose lips sink ships.

The soldier blinked, before scowling a little, and starting to say back in a whining voice.

Aww come on man, no one here gives a shit. Merc's, drunks... Nobody here's Judah. You need to know, dude. Dude, they'll find out soon enough....

Before Claypoole could open his mouth to tell him to shut up again, the cartel soldier blabbed again

We gonna help the rebels man. We just don't know ho---w.

That was it. Claypoole set down his glass, yanked the small-framed man to his feet by his collar, and then tugged him away from the bar counter. His eyes darted around nervously, looking for someone who was paying undue attention to what Ipog was saying. The soldier was speaking too loudly, speaking too brashly, and was speaking dangerously. Most of the Crimson Cartel was smarter then this idiot... only reason they tolerated him was because he was damn good with computers. He was too talkative, not serious enough, and wasn't careful enough. Claypoole could see a movie cliche of a sell-out gang member setting up the rest of them from a mile away. Claypoole moves so his face was inches away from the soldiers for dramatic effect, and then growls bestially

You've had enough to drink. Go home. Your shift supervisor won't like to hear you've been drunk.

Ipog opened his mouth again to protest, but Claypoole was firing a glare that screamed "Get out before I throw you out" dead straight in his eyes point blank with the intensity only a war veteran Gunnery Sergeant could muster. Ipog muttered "Fine", and edged away, leaving Claypoole alone, and zipping his mouth until he was out of earshot. Claypoole glared at him and watched until he was out, and then turned back towards the bar counter straightening himself back out. He scanned the sea of faces again as he stopped at the barcounter, this time not sitting down, and orders the whole bottle instead of a glass. He felt like sitting in the corner and watching everyone else now rather then sit at the bar counter. It was unfortunate none of his normal drinking buddies were around.

The bar tender passed me my beer with a grin on his face. he nodded to me as i put the money on the counter and i nodded back.

"thank you" i said.

i turned back to face away from the counter. i sat back and listed to the conversations of those around me. extra hear was sometimes very fun. some of the conversations some people tried to have when they thought that no one could hear was rather amusing. i smiled as i took a sip of my beer. it was great. i turned back to the bar tender.

"this is one of the best beers i've had in a while. bloody good" i said with a grin and raised my beer in a salute.

Anna didn't really get the joke all that much. She watched him as he leaned a bit closer to her to whisper something in her ear. "I don't get it either really." She said being honest with him as well. She looked over at Bob who to her seemed to be laughing just a little. Anna couldn't tell exactly but then with his response, she knew he was. "But wouldn't the joke die out as you and everyone who actually knows that joke passes on?"

Anna moved her head in a way that she could eye the girl who had walked into the pub. She noticed she was one of the government from seeing her in the cafeteria before. The one with powers is what she thought of her as. The one she could care less about. Powers weren't a good thing for her to think about now. She took another sip of her white russian and concentrated only on the pictures up on the wall.

Darn it... the brunette didn't get it either, Thats the last time I'm taking advice from Bob! Meanwhile two more people had entered, one took position at a bar stool and ordered a beer, the other walking to wards the person rocking out on the jukebox. The first one, a girl on the bar stool, looked rather odd, with that olive skin tone. An Olive skin tone... I don't believe I've seen anyone else with that, I wonder where she's from.

The second person who entered started talking now, yet his attempt to be quiet was rather unsuccessful, I could pretty much hear everything he was saying. While the story was being interrupted by a jab from the rock star, I could pretty much follow the main line of it. They weren't breaking the place apart so I didn't show much sign of me noticing it... so far. Before the story was over the rock star seemed to sent the other home, well thats a good thing. Can't break the place apart when your not here. Now that everything seemed quiet again I was able to focus at the matters at hand, getting this girl to like me!

"By then the Lada's wouldn't be more that a piece at the junkyard, so I can rest easy" Bob reply'd to the girl. I suddenly realized she hadn't told me her name yet! Should I just ask for it? or would that make me sound like I wanted to know it to badly... In movie's they usually get some clever line to get the name. Hmm maybe she'll tell me later on. Oh well.

"By the way John, how many times do I have to tell you, Its: "What do you call a lada going up a hill?" Ah darn it, well that does make more sense.

((Mitsurugi, my skin is olive because of my nationality and the fact that i spend a lot of time in the sun. It has nothing to do with me being a super. oh, and neither do my eyes, just so you know. they may be two different colours [one blue, one green] but that is because i was born with it.))

I was having a great time. It had been a while since i got enough time off work to do something fun like this, so when i did it was even more fun. However i was just a little disappointed, both brunette girl and the big man had given my bad looks and no one had come up to talk to me. i was begging to think i had a sign on my head. something saying "keep away from the black haired girl". i would stay for a while. have another beer when i finished this one. Maybe by then some one would make this night interesting.

The Leprechaun Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Leprechaun   The Leprechaun EmptyFri Nov 27, 2009 4:04 am

Claypoole sat in silence for another couple moments alone, sipping at his bourbon, happy to just bob his head mindlessly to the music and let go of the world for just a few moments--- literally. Somehow managing to not think a thing, not have a care in the world, not have anything to do, not see any worth or motivation in the moment for a couple moments. The only thing on his mind was the music and the bourbon. He figured if it weren't for those two things Claypoole would have slipped off into enlightenment by the buddhist definition, broke free of Samsara, and become the next Buddha. That was when one of his drinking buddies, the only one who wasn't in the Crimson Cartel he was willing to talk to about the cartel with, stepped through the door and headed straight towards the barstool beside him. Paul "Don" Moretti, named so not because of any underworld affiliations but because of his mind blowing "The godfather" impressions, stood about as tall as the 6"2 Matthew Claypoole, but was slightly less well built as Claypoole, who was practically a tank, and his job for years had been to lug around the heaviest damn gear in the entire unit, yet still run his ass off as fast as the others. The two exchanged robotic hello's and then sat silently, one waiting on their drink, and the other finishing theirs off. It seemed like to Claypoole that was a sustainable conversation for that night, but then Moretti abruptly broke the silence

What the hell? Not a joke, not a word, not a pick-up line? You just gonna sit there all night long staring at that shelf full of wine? You hate wine man!

Claypoole shrugged absentmindedly, showing that he was both alive and at least partly like him. Claypoole was normally pretty mellow, and often at times on the surface seemed to not give a crap what anyone thought about him because of it. Finally, Moretti tried to break the silence again, this time with a suggestion he knew would get through Claypoole's thick head and deep inside his brain

Come on. Your not talking at all. Not even talking to me. Worse, you woulda normally snapped up the opportunity in a moment to talk to that girl over there all by herself, but your sitting here... If ya ain't going to talk to me, at least go talk to her or else the guys'll start questioning which side your on.

That did get through to Claypoole, predictably. And he knew unlike the last conversation this wasn't about Government vs Rebels, it was about what his orientation was. He figured the sudden change in personality could raise enough eyebrows too someone somewhere sometime would make that giant and idiotic leap. Claypoole sighed, swished his bourbon in his glass around again, and then said hesitantly

Ehhhh... I don't know dude, I can't do that crap anymore, I'm having to take care of my sis no---w

Moretti blinked, recoiled back a bit, and cut him off

I didn't say THAT man. What, is that all talking to a girl at a bar makes you think?

Moretti knew his response was predictable, and he could very well imagine him making THAT leap. Still, he knew enough about Claypoole's situation that he wasn't going to make the suggestion to stop playing the responsible "parent" role like he was trying to. That wasn't the kind of drinking body Moretti wanted to be. Claypoole didn't miss a beat as he shrugged, and responded not only casually, or detached, but in a dead solid unemotionally neutral tone

Pretty much.

Moretti's eyebrows furrowed at the again oh so predictable response. When it came to this crap, you could read Claypoole like a book if you knew him and were a true friend. Moretti sighs, then thanks the bartender as he gets his drink, before he shot a stern and harshly critical look at Claypoole

Well, come on dude, just cause your sister's around don't mean you can't talk to any girls anymore. What you gonna do, sit here and drink your bourbon in silence for the rest of the night?

Claypoole maintained the same tone as before, and stared ahead again, bobbing his head to the music as he droned on with a ludicrously straight face.

Pretty much. Today's the "Wallow in my misery silently and wonder how the hell it all came down to this" day on the calender. Normally days like that mean I get even more thrashed and drunk then usual, but now with the sis... I...

Moretti was frowning halfway through Claypoole's response already, and he quickly cut him off again.

You gotta be kidding me. Thundah Claypoole sitting on his ass hating what life's become. Listen to yourself man!

Claypoole's characteristic smirk crept back across his face as he responded with the same cursed tone with an unusually bitter tone to it, taking pride in his cynical, gallow's humor that he figured was clever

That's living in the moment for ya.

Moretti sighs deeply, and sets his drink down at the same time he starts to pick it up for a swig. By the sounds of Claypoole's tone, he was having another one of his moment's after dealing with the a**hole cartel soldiers. Moretti knew on the inside Claypoole couldn't stand the scumbags, but needed the job, and so he put up with it. He knew it'd be a night of bitter silence for Claypoole if he sat here with him, and unfulfilling, sober sleep. He knew though that was because he was at a disadvantage--- if Claypoole wasn't in the mood to joke around and talk, then most men were pretty much screwed if they tried to interact with him. However, even in such a mood, women weren't at such a disadvantage--- he was always in the mood to screw around, and although he wouldn't follow up on that mood, decent looking women could always use that mood to that advantage to get him to talk. That feeling in his... lets say gut.... would tug at him so he'd open up eventually. Moretti expected if Claypoole just started to strike up a conversation with a simple "Hello", if they responded, he MIGHT start to talk a lot more. Moretti furrowed his eyebrows again, shot the stern look at Claypoole again, but this time wagged his finger at Claypoole as if that was enough to make his threaten borderland fulfilled

Claypoole get your ass into gear and do something with your free time before your spending it in the hospital, hating yourself for not being able to hit on the nurses.

Claypoole shoots a sideways glance at Moretti. Moretti couldn't nearly kick his a**, he knew that. Moretti knew it too. Still, Claypoole knew that Moretti knew kicking Moretti's a** was not only short term a bad idea (Bouncer not only armed with non lethal weapons but now holding Claypoole's machine pistol), but long term, he would have lost a close and very trusted drinking body possibly forever. Claypoole sighed, downed the last of his bourbon, and stood up. He made his way over to sit down by the black haired girl like Moretti had suggested, and said in a slightly less dead tone

Howdy. What's up? Hey Bartender, 'nother bourbon!

PostSubject: Re: The Leprechaun   The Leprechaun EmptyFri Nov 27, 2009 6:13 am

i was swigged the last dregs of my first beer just as a man came and sat next to me. I had heard him being encouraged by his friend to come and talk to me. i couldn't help but smile when he finally came over.

Howdy. What's up? Hey Bartender, 'nother bourbon! he said and then he ordered another drink.

i turned and smiled at his, i couldn't help the twinkle in my eyes. now that i had someone to talk to, the night might just get interesting.

"Hi there. As to your question of 'what's up?' i would have to say, 'the sky'. heheh i laughed at my very lame joke "what about you? what's your name?

i turned to the bartender as he brought the man his drink and flashed him a grin "could i have another beer please the bartender smiled back, nodded and said "sure, no problem"

i turned back to the man sitting next to me. he was handsome, i liked him already but that did not mean that i would let my guard down. i had spent enough years in the government to know that people are never quite what they seem.

Claypoole's smirk had faded when he had gotten up and made his way over, but it crept back onto his face weakly. Although he couldn't imagine himself laughing at it, he could imagine himself saying something like that. Whether they find it funny be damned, it was clever to him. Claypoole reached for his glass after the bartender finished refilling it, and said still in a bit of a distant, neutral tone

Your sure about that? I never knew.... Might need to check Wiki when I get home, cause I think your lying. If your right though... Jeeze... Anywho, the name's Matthew. You?

Claypoole took a sip of his Bourbon again, before shooting a side ways glance at her. For some reason, even in bars, women ordering not just one, but more drinks surprises him at the least a tad bit, and always make's his smarta** self assured smirk strengthen. He had no idea why it surprised him but he had an idea of why he liked it.

"The name is Katsa and it is a pleasure to meet you. I gave him a warm smile.

"so, what brings you too these neck of the woods? I asked.

i leant closer as if what i was about to tell him was a secret "to tell you the truth. this is my first time coming here. I was driving past of my bike and thought it looked interesting and besides, i was thirsty. my eyes where sparkling with amusement as I put my finger to my smiling lips and said "but don't tell anyone."

i sat back on my stool, still smiling and took a sip of my beer.

Claypoole blinked and forced himself to look at her wide eyed, pretending to be surprised by what she said, before nodding and putting a finger over his lip. He pretended like it was a big deal and he'd help her keep a secret even though he didn't really see how much of a difference it made. Hell, all the better for him that this was her first time here. That meant she didn't know who he was or his reputation. Claypoole's smirk came back to his face as he mumbled

Wow. Eh. Well, don't worry 'bout it, you can trust me, you won't ever hear about me telling people that... Anywho. If you mean why'm I out here at the Leprechaun, its because I was planning to drink enough I'd be seeing leprechauns. For some reason Macgreggor only shows up when I'm really, really drunk... Some friend. Ahole. As for why I'm in town... Job. Mother's in the hospital and I gotta pay the bills.

Claypoole put on a straight face at first as he spoke, but it seemed to get blanker towards the end. Before anyone could say anything, Claypoole quickly started to speak again with a resurgent smirk

Yeah, thought I hadn't seen you in here before. A word of advice. The enchilada's are wonderffullll... at least for a moment or two. Damn you Newton and every action has an opposite reaction.

Claypoole's smirk grew a little as he downed some more of his Bourbon, before weakening as he realized he probably should stop when he was done with that glass. He felt like tacking on a joke about gravity, or scientists making crap up, or "if only I didn't believe in..." joke, but he knew it'd take a couple more moments to come up with something that didn't suck too much even for him. By then, she'd probably be responding.

i listened to Matthew as he spoke. listening to the way his voice slowly became bleaker and bleaker and his face be came blank, but before i could ask he continued on. his smirk coming back to his face.

Yeah, thought I hadn't seen you in here before. A word of advice. The enchilada's are wonderful... at least for a moment or two. Damn you Newton and every action has an opposite reaction.

i rested my elbow on the counter and my head on my hand. My eye's where sparkling. i was enjoying myself immensely. "Enchilada's? never had the an here for a job huh? hehe, that reminds me, my bills are due soon. Evil things that they are. i grinned at him. "they always seem to bight you in the bum just when you could do without them, don't you think? so, do you live around here?" I took another sip of my beer. this would be my last. Anymore and i would regret it.

Claypoole took another small sip of his bourbon as Katsa spoke, before he winced at the mention of bills, remembering he had hospital bills to pay, and worse, he remembered his job as hired muscle. A couple of times he had had to act as a loan shark on some innocents, which sadly made him a hypocrite--- someone trying to pay their bills turns on those who may be in the same boat. Claypoole shrugged, his smirk remaining, and took another sip as he said a little quieter then before

I don't know how enchilada's make you think of bills, but yeah, I live 'round here'. Closer to the harbor, though. Wasn't born here though. You?

"lets just say that i moved here by myself when i was 15 and have lived here ever since. I live further in town" i smiled at him but i couldn't help the small quiver in my lips. I changed the subject.

"you come here often?" i asked the brightness in my smile coming back.
