The Common Room

Alyss wandered into the Common Room, still in her blood driven stupor from earlier on. Now all she was aching to do was get outside, run around, attack.
Kill.
She shook the thought from her head and stretched out her long white limbs over the couch, sliding down into a laying position. She rested her head back onto the pillows and looked up at the ceiling, smiling slightly. She shut her eyes and listened to the sounds of everyone moving around, in the other rooms.

Things were strange here, the two places were so contrasted. At the Resistance Headquarters everyone was constantly busy, buzzing around, they thrived on their extended existence and were constantly cautious to everything that was going on. Whereas the Government building was eerily quiet, everyone keeping to themselves, lest they be taken out the back and shot until dead.
Alyss smiled sadistically. She recalled strangling a prisoner to death with her shadow powers and sucking his blood dry. This is why she liked Marshall, he would let her do what she liked and never judged her. In fact, he set it up for her and praised her.

She could barely wait until the Government would attack here, thanks to her information. She couldn't wait to rip these stupid fools to shreds with her bare hands. All that blood. She could feast forever.

She reached down into her bag and pulled out a can of Dr Karkarov's Medical blood. She cracked it open and shut her eyes again, drinking down the beautiful liquid. Her eyes turned a solid black under her pale eyelids and she smiled, savouring the taste.

Xzuk walked into the common room thinking more on the raid that was fast coming up, and he worried far too much for his own life... which was naturl, wasn't it? His hair fell in his face again and broke his concetraion yet again.

He smiled a bit and pushed it aside, he saw the common room in all its not so new and clean splendor and then his eyebrow raised as he saw something a bit less natural. There was a girl with fiery orange hair sitting on the couch drinking, what he hoped to God wasn't blood.

Umm... do I say something, or just leave?

He began to slide back into the shadows, but bumped into a table and knocked off a glass of some sort of fine liquor, he caught it of course, but his cover was blown.

Alyss jolted upright and screeched loudly. She ran towards the table, gathering up the liquid, failing and it ran over her hands. She twisted her head round, her dark black eyes still in place. She bared her teeth, which were still elongated from her previous blood ingestion and hissed at the long haired man.

"Watch where you're going, you're pathetic little idiot." she snarled, crouching down to pick up the can. She was worried he would ask questions, but she crunched the can in her hand, crushing the tin easily in her strengthened hand.

"Woah, chill out lady!"

He backed up against a wall putting his hands in front of him. As he hit the wall, one of the lights sparked and the energy shot into his body. It was yet another accident... Once again he revealed he had powers. And it was getting annoying. But for now, he had a much bigger issue to deal with...

What the hell is this girl?

"Look, sorry bout that, Im a bit on the clumsy side. Just try not to kill me for it okay?"

He smiled a bit and got up off of the wall, trying to hide any fear he might have been showing. Then he saw the fangs and it sealed the thought he had. She was some kind of a vampire.

"My names Wake."

Alyss got up onto her feet and smirked at him. He actually backed away?! Pathetic little human boy.
"Alyss."
He obviously had some kind of power though, he shot sparks from his body. Alyss moved closer to him, smirking on one side of her face. Her teeth retracted and she licked the blood from her lips. Walking backwards, she knocked over her bag and the three remaining cans of blood fell out, rolling onto the floor.

A flash of fear spread across her face and she hurriedly picked them up. She turned to glare at Wave. "I suggest you leave." she hissed.

"I don't take too well to suggestions. Nice to meet you."

He scratched the back of his head as he saw all of the cans roll out and smiled a bit.

Addiction problems much?

A glint of blue passed his eyes and small bolts of static flared through his irises as he went and sat in a chair. He still couldn't believe he was actually in a room with a vampire. it was a bit strange actually...

"So, whats it like?"

Alyss sighed and laid back on the sofa, running a hand through her fiery hair.

"What's what like?" she said, narrowing her eyes.

She was glad he hadn't noticed them, if anyone found out she was spying for Marshall, she didn't want to know the consequences.

As if on cue, her communicator vibrated in her pocket. She ignored it, she would read the message from Judah later on, it was probably just a thanks for the recent information.

"Seriously? Being a girl."

He stopped and smiled a bit jokingly.

"Whats it like, to be a vampire? A night prowler? Can you turn into a bat?"

He was trying to keep things in a light mood, but who knew how it'd go. He still didn't have any trust for this girl, but what else was new? He didn't trust anyone. He heard a faint wave go through the room, but dismissed it as a text message or something of the sort.

Alyss laughed highly, this man was strange company. She felt the communicator buzz again and she took it out quickly. He wouldn't know what it was anyway. It was round in shape, entirely black, and the message would pop up on the screen, that was melded into the screen.

'Thank you Alyss. Most helpful.'

She smiled to herself and quickly put the comm away. She looked back up at Wave and pursed her lips.

"Honestly? It's the best thing that's ever happened to me. Apart from the horrific comedown and craving hunger, the endless nights, the many years and war's i've had to watch over, the blinding rage to kill anything. It's Ok, apart from all that." she said, rolling her eyes.
"I could kill you. I want to." Her tone peaked lustfully, her pupils dilating, then expanding, filling her entire eye. A feeling overcame her. She wanted to jump, and her muscles clenched. Her fangs elongated, and she desperately wanted to pounce, jamming them into his pulsing veins, that sweet, sweet blood. She smiled and her skin seemed to glimmer. "I really, really want to."

Alyss shook her head and her eyes returned to normal, her fangs retracted. She sat back on the sofa and closed her eyes. "Sorry, I apologize. But, sometimes I can't help myself." she said, smiling.

His eyes began to shimmer at the thought of her trying to kill her. His powers had readied themselves for the attack, but it never came. Thankfully. It would seem that she had some kind of control over her power.. Maybe not absolute, but that was to be expected.

"Apology accepted. And believe me, I understand."

He reached out a hand as an example. He held it close to one of the lamps lighting the room and the bulb exploded, sending the electricity into his fingers. His eyes flared up once again, and he smiled, baring his own teeth, covered in electricity.

"Makes for a good time sometimes though. So, you mentioned wars, how old are you anyway?"

Alyss smiled at him and blinked once at his power. It was less impressive than she originally expected, but she could imagine that he was damn powerful when he wanted to be.

"I don't think you understand at all. Have you ever had to kill someone?" she said, smiling. She imagined he had and continued. "Have you then had to drink their dead blood until satisfied. It's not a great feeling, especially for the first time. Have you felt the burn as the demon in your head tries to ignite you for blood? I think not."

The comms in her pocket rang again and she growled angrily, hitting her pocket.

The smile on his face faded slightly as she described a bit more about life as one of the few known as Vampires. He wasn't frightened or disgusted with what she had to do to survive, if anything, he was jut glad it wasn't him that was the target.

"Well, for every plus, there has to be a minus I suppose."

He heard another frequency pass through the room and then Alyss hit her pocket. He laughed a little as she growled.

"Miss popular tonight then I guess?"

This must mean she prefers to keep her powers secret... why else would people be texting her? They must not know what she is. And, he wasn't going to change that.

"And, by the way, I'm not gonna tell anyone about this. I can only imagine how much worse it'd be if people knew about your power, compared to if people knew mine."

Alyss smiled at Wave and shook her head.

"People know I have powers, they just don't know what I need to do to get them." she said. 'Like espionage and lying', she thought.
She opened her hand and showed him a writhing, moving dark shape that was moving around in her palm. "I have mild shadowmancing powers, they come in handy everynow and then, plus the usual vampire stuff. Speed, strength, vision. All that Jazz."

She reclined into the sofa and smiled again. "Not exactly popular. I wish they would go away really." she said, sadly.

"I know the feeling. Im kinda sick of being the way I am. I was created by the goverment for tracking reasons. I was used to track down resistance fighters for months... I was the cause for many casualties sin this war, but, I left that cause for one that I actually believe has a purpose."

He smiled again and reclined in his chair.

"But, I really wouldn't mind being able to turn on a tv and not fry it..."

He was glad she had told him more about her power, but he wasn't willing to divulge too much about his power. She knew that his powers revolved around electricity, and that was enough for now.

"and how could you not be popular? Your hair is bright orange."

He smiled wide again, forgetting about the bolts still shooting across his teeth.

Alyss gulped as he said he worked for the Government. Did he know who she was? Would he tell them?!
She kept her cool and smirked at him.

"Haha, thanks. I enjoy dying it, might go red tomorrow." She smiled widely, and tensed up slightly. "Are you very against the Government?" She gulped slightly, would this man realise? She hoped not.

Something about the girl had changed... she seemed almost panicked for a moment.... This, he would not be able to let slide. His curiousity would have to get the better of him in this round.

"I'm not against the government in a way that I would want to kill them. I just don't agree with their ideas and methods. Kill for the sake of killing is something I cannot be a part of. I joined this resistance, because they also want to end the mayhem, but they have a reason to fight for it."

He looked her in the eyes to try and see something that would give him a hint as to what was wrong... but, he didn't catch anything too suspicious. Although, he did think he knew what it was.

"Tell me, what exactly is it that you believe in?"

Alyss reclined, but her jaw was clenched hard. She smiled wistfully and avoided his persistent gaze.

"I believe in what is right." she said, cocking her head to one side. She bit her lip, feeling a drop of blood left on her lip. Her pocket buzzed and she angrily hit it, her fangs immediately striking out.

She's avoiding the answer and my eyes... something is up...

He sat back and smiled again, trying not to seem like a jerk, because if he was wrong, this would probably end any friendship that may have been growing.

"What if I was to say that right, is just a point of view? Which point of view would you be taking sides with?"

Something is up with her and that communicator...

"And, dont people usually read their texts? Or am I just too kind?"

Alyss bit her lip and twitched as the fangs pierced the sensitive skin.

"I agree with the right side, you guys of course." she said, smiling. "As for my....phone. I'm just waiting till later to answer it."

She glared up at him, her face angry. "What is it to you?"

"Oh, nothing much. Just that, you know, you're acting a bit strange. And, in case you failed to notice, you just peirced your lip."

He sat up and noticed how quickly her facial expression had changed, it was now time to start the test.

"don't suppose you're bi-polar are you? Because, I'm really starting to see a litle pattern come up here... you go from mean to nice.... and now, you're back to mean again... so, technically, you should be nice again soon too right?"

His eyes flashed as a small bolt ran through them. For some reason, he couldn't trace her phones message back to its source.

Alyss smiled at him and slightly raised her nose, snarling.

"I'm not bi-polar, you idiot. I'm always like this." she said, angrily. "I just think that asking such personal questions is a little rude."

"I'm not asking anything personal. I'm asking general questions and you're just over reacting to them... And I'm not an idiot, Im far smarter than you give me credit for."

His smile faded and he stood up from the chair, stretching out once again, noticing how she went from a cute smile to being pissed off again.

"Although, I am quite rude. Most of the time. I would say get used to it, but something tells me we wont be having that issue."

He turned and began walking towards the door awaiting a reaction. If she was like any normal girl, she wouldn't let him leave with the last word. Its just not in their nature.

Alyss stood up shakily, clenching her hands.

"Wait!" she shouted.

She lurched forwards and grabbed hold of him before he reached the door. She swiveled him round by the collar and slammed his back into the wall. Holding onto his collar, her fangs elongating outwards again. She pressed up close to him and held his throat with her pale, strong hands.

"Don't talk to me like that little boy." she hissed, clenching her jaw. "You're a lot dumber than I originally thought."

"Uhm... you know I'm taller than you right? I'm not exactly little when... I'm bigger thn you are..."

He smiled again trying not to seem too impressed by her strength. It truly was a bit surprising though.... She had moved him around like he was nothing but a feather pillow.

Maybe I've lost some weight? Ah... well... who cares... My theory was right again. Lets see how long I can keep the last word... and prove how 'stupid' I really am...

"So, I've just gotta ask this.... or what?"

Alyss's self control was on breaking point, so close to him, she could hear the blood pounding.
"You don't really want to know." she said.
She was a lot shorter than him, reaching his neck. She ran her fingers along his neck feeling his pulse and her eyes turned very dark, with an extreme bloodlust.

The sweet taste of human blood, how she missed it.
