| This lounge wasn't open to just anyone. A random office accountant or low leveled security guard couldn't just choose to take the lounge, which was mostly a luxury left to the people above "Untouchable" status. Stones luckily, after such an unbearably long, cramped, and covert plane ride here, found himself in such a status. He had been given an ID card and was allowed access to the lounge to rest a bit, before he would be expected to plug himself into the going ons, get briefed, and deployed. If a United States Marine Force Recon Master Gunnery Sergeant with Scout-sniper specialization and top secret security clearance was sent somewhere, it had a good (Even if not a very good, uncharacteristically perfect for a bureaucracy's decisions) reason for it.
He sat luxuriously in a chair with his back to the wall, leaning back against it, although carefully resisting the urge to kick his shoes up onto the table. It was a habit now when he didn't have anyone he knew or trusted watching his back to always sit in a defensive posture, and always apply PERSEC, OPSEC, Scout-sniper, Black-ops, USMC "Gun fighting rules", or covert rules when he could to his life. He wasn't dressed in his MARPAT uniforms, and instead was plains clothed--- no boots. He retained his firearm, but it didn't say anything about him except he wasn't your average clerk. He didn't look quite military though, because his hair had been allowed to grow out for this op so he could blend in. He had an 8 o clock shadow too, so he didn't look like a poster boy well kept clean shaven marine. The only thing that would designate him a marine would be the exact, very very exact fine details of the MEU SOC M1911, a signature luxury sidearm of the USMC. Still. The amount of attention, paranoia, training, know how, and plain... creepiness it would take to notice it made it less then a problem.
Although he was half asleep, he was awake enough if anyone opened that door he'd be looking dead straight at them before they took even a step and a half inside the room. | |
