Emma's Room

A slightly larger room than what most of the Resistance members have. A large round bed takes pride of place placed against the far wall opposite the door.

The left hand wall of the room is dominated by two things, the first of which is a long cupboard for all Emma's clothes, shoes, and other random things she can't be bothered finding a permanent home for. The second is another cupboard, however this one stores vastly different items than the first. What it contains can only be described as a small arsenal. Swords, throwing blades, assorted guns large and small, armor, and other high tech electrical battle gear items are stacked in here.

This cupboard is locked by one of those high tech electrical things. A hand scanner unlocks the cupboard, but it has an additional feature when compared to normal hand scanners. In combination with her hand print, the scanner also requires Emma to raise the temperature of her hand to 250'C. The door to her room is unlocked with a similar mechanism.

On the right hand wall there are several things including a door to her en suite bathroom. En suite here meaning it has a shower, bathtub and toilet all in the same room where as most Resistance members only have the shower and toilet. There is also a bookcase filled with both ancient dusty leather bound books, and newly printed transcripts of books and intel. There is also a mini bar fridge in the corner. Emma thought the Government agents could forgive her for underage drinking considering the fact that they were after her for so many other things. The list was way to long to even consider trying to write all her infringements down. It would cost the lives of about 50 giant trees from the amazon.

There was one other item in Emma's room, and this one wasn't attached to anything. Placed randomly in the middle of the room was a long wooden table with 8 chairs spaced around it. Emma really didn't like having to trek all the way deep into the earth for a secure meeting so several months ago she had upgraded her security system on her door so only she could get in or out and decided that all secret meetings involving her will hence forth be held in her bedroom.

Emma stretched her neck and placed her hand in the hand scanner to open her door. She had done this so many times she didn't even need to think about making her hand's temperature rise, it did it all by it's self. Which was probably a good thing considering her thoughts were anywhere but on the task at hand.

Emma sighed. It had been ages since she had seen anyone from the Council. Yes they had meetings once a week and all, but it wasn't the same. She missed the old days where they had all been friends hanging out at school. These days she only really saw her friends at the meetings, and then all they spoke about was business.

The door to Emma's room slid open, startling her from her thoughts. She sighed again and stepped inside, scratching the back of her neck. Yet another sigh escaped her lips when she saw just how messy her room was. It was amazing that it could get so destroyed considering the fact that she rarely came here. Most of the time she was out in the city doing gorilla warfare against Marshall's forces. When she did get in she usually just pulled off her dirty clothes, chucked them on the floor, then collapsed on her bed...

"well that explains how it got so messy." she muttered, observing the piles of scattered clothes on the floor, chairs, table, cupboard.... and also explained how her bed came to look as though a muddy pig had rolled in it. Emma glanced up at the clock on her wall and raised an eyebrow. There was no way she would be able to manually clean this place before the raid party got here.

Emma's eyes flashed and her hands caught alight. Gently she raised them up in front of her face and turned up the heat. As she concentrated, the air in front of her got hotter and hotter until it felt as though she was standing in an oven on Thermo nuclear high temperatures. That's when Emma slowly pushed her palms forward, manipulating the flames on her forearms so that she could control the direction of the heated air. She paused, then rapidly spun in a circle.

The hot air billowed out away from her, lifting all the clothes into the air. Emma thrust her arms forward again, fast this time, causing another gush of hot air to blast through the room. This time the hovering clothes were thrown into a pile outside of Emma's clothes cupboard.

Emma put out the fire on her arms then strode over to the large pile of clothes. She sidestepped them though, instead opening the cupboard door. Then with a wave of her hand, she set her arm alight again, lifted the clothes with another gush of hot air, and sent them tumbling into the cupboard whose door she promptly slammed shut with her no flaming hand.

"great half done." She complemented herself then turned to her bed. The more challenging of the 2 tasks. Although easily fixed.

Emma strode over to her bed and simply pulled the covers up, hiding the dirt stains from view.

"Brilliant. Done"She smiled and stepped off to the bathroom to freshen up.

Emma emerged from the bathroom, sliding her jacket back on. She didn't really need to wear it, she did control fire after all so obviously keeping warm wasn't a problem for her. No, she wore it simply to look more normal. The years of blending in with the crowd had formed such strong habits in her that she continued to pretend to be a normal human even though no one was watching.

Emma paused in the middle of the room. The raiding party would be here any minute now so there was no point in sitting down and getting comfy, she'd only have to get back up and open the door for them. Instead Emma went for a compromise. She stepped over so she was facing the door, then leaned backwards to rest her weight against the table behind her.

There was a moment of stillness, but Emma, always the fidget, soon snapped. She pulled one of her gun's out of their hip holster and started to check it over to make sure it was still perfect.

She'd just finished her inspection of the first gun and was moving for the second when there was a knock at her door.

"One sec!" She called and holstered both guns as she strode up to the door and placed her palm in the scanner and rose the temperature to open the door.

Shrap was about to knock again when the door opened. He had washed the face paint off earlier. He slowly lowered his hand.
Hey Emma... He said, he walked in her room and stopped at the table, he examined her room,
Nice place...
he took off his hood and he had a blue tooth on. He had taken off the headphones. He sat down and put his M16A4 on the table, he also put his sniper rifle on the table. the words, Strike from afar, strike those who stand against us. were engraved on the Sniper Rifle. He disassembled the rifle and leaned his M16A4 against the chair, the rifle had many complicated parts, he then took away the barrel and the stock. He took off his backpack, he had about 3 different barrels on the side, each made with a lightweight but strong metal. He took out the longest one and placed it on the table, he then put the normal barrel in his backpack, he opened one of the pockets and took out a stock, he replaced it and reassembled his rifle with frightening speed.
Well, if im a super, then I guess I have to master my powers... Shrap thought, he sat down and thought, staring at his rifle, he thought on how he even activated his powers in the first place.

Wake had recieved word of the go ahead for the raid. Things were finally gonna get interesting in this place... He was told to return to the room of the councilwoman he had met earlier. He was a bit late, but he didn't think it would matter too much.

Ugh.... Manners...manners...

He knocked lightly on the door and stood at ease awaiting his 'commanding officer.' He smiled a bit as his hair fell into his eyes and covered his face. It was always there to calm his nerves.

Emma smiled as the door slid open to reveal Shrapnel, his hand still in the air.

"Come in my bushy friend. Take a seat." She smiled and waved him in.

Shrap nodded a greeting back at her and commented on her room before taking a seat and playing with his gun.

Emma was bout to join him and finish off her inspection of her own guns when there was another knock at the door.

Several very hot seconds later the door slid open again to reveal electro boy.

"Come in." She smiled before stepping over to take her seat at the head of the table.

Emma cocked her head and gazed at the two boys in front of her. They may not of been the best choices for the raid, but they would do.

"So let's start with the basics shall we? I'm Emma, but for the duration of this raid you shall call me Pyro. Majority of the Government agents and super soldiers don't know my real name and i'd like to keep it that way. The man with the gun is Shrapnel, and the guy with the emo fringe is electro boy." She grinned slyly before continuing.

"Now tomorrow night there will be a convoy of Government agents and most likely some super soldiers too that will be moving a group of newly activated supers to the super soldier training camp. Our objective is simple. Stop them." Emma turned her gaze onto Shrap. "You my sniper friend shall be giving us cover fire and keeping look out to make sure nothing comes out of nowhere and surprises us." Her attention shifted to electro boy. "You McSparky are with me. I want you to shut down all electronics in a 3 mile radius. That should stop some of the more heavy artillery from working, and increase the time before enemy backup arrives. After that i would like it if you helped me break the supers out and get them to safety. We will be under attack though so i understand if you would prefer to go wait with Shrap here." Emma teased then sat more comfortably on her chair.

"We may also be having some help from the Supers for hire gang. Just because we're so low on fighters in the Resistance at the moment. Ventus and Omega will be providing back up for me. Depending on how stuff falls down, two of us will engage in attack with the soldiers and agents, whilst the other frees the supers and gets them to safety." Emma said, her brow creased slightly. She didn't like working with these goons. They gave their services to the highest bidder and Judah had far more money than the Resistance. She could never be sure they were really on her side.

Emma shook her head and turned her attention back to the pair in front of her.

"We have also received Intel that some of the more talented agents and soldiers will be put on this convoy. This means things could get very ugly, very quickly. If i send up a ball of fire into the air that is a signal for you two to come save our asses." She smiled lopsidedly before unfurling from her chair and heading for the minibar.

"Questions? Comments? Drink?" She asked, popping open a Corona extra dry beer before leaning against the wall with a smirk.

"Yeah, I've gt a question. Does the word insane mean anything to you?"

He shook his head negatively and wiped his face. The thought of this really wasn't smart. He had no faith in what they were capable of, because, he had seen what the government could do in action, and this, was not something that could be done as easily as it may have sounded.

"First off, how do we even know if the supers that they're transporting want to be saved? What if they turn on us? Second, a three mile radis is going to be very difficult to do from one position. I may need to move around to et that done.... or, if you can find a mobile command HQ vehicle. I can sap power from that and do something... well, lets just say, quite impressive."

He hadn't known these two for long, and he still didn't trust them. How did he know this wasn't going to be some suicide mission they were usig just to axe him? He had worked for the other side after all...

"I'm still in. And your still crazy. But, I suppose as long as Shrapnel has our back, I dont have too mch to worry about."

He already had a plan for himself. He wouldn't fry ALL of the artillery. He had plenty of use for it as a defensive line. And until he made it to that point, he could trust Shrapnel and his scope.

Emma listened carefully to electro boy speak. One day she really would have to find out what his name was, but now probably wasn't the best time.

"Your right." She said once electro boy had finished. "They may not want to be saved. But what if they do? without our help they will never have the chance of freedom. And anyways, if they dont want to join us we let them all go as soon as we have taken them to a safe place. The important thing is that we are giving these people the choice and opportunity to refuse Judah's iron grip on this land and fight for freedom. Plus we're also annoying the hell out of Judah whilst doing it." She finished with a shrug before taking a sip of her drink.

"As for the electrical dead zone i want you to make. i think we can get you what you need. But i would of thought you would use the power lines or something?" Emma said as she stepped back over to sit back at the table.

This reminded Shrap of his old military briefings, but there was no maps, and no screen.

That deadzone would fry my MP3...My radio...My coms...My watch...Reminds me of those old fashion WW2 missions. Heh, I always wanted to do that. Shrap said.

He picked up his M16A4 and slung it over his shoulder, he picked up his Sniper Rifle and said,
If you rely on someone, or something too much on a mission, it has a higher chance of failing. A plan must be flexible, what happens if I die? Well, I suppose...I'll do my best Ma'am. Shrap said.
Shrap began to think of a secondary plan if things got too hot, he put on a thin ski-mask and his hood.
When do we move out?

"Whenever we're ready." Emma shrugged and turned her gaze on electro boy. the only things holding up this mission now was whether electro boy really needed the truck or if he could make do without it, and she still had to send the final message to the supers for hire gang giving them all the details. But before she could do that, electro boy had to tell her what he needed.

"So McSparky, what's it to be? Kill one of our trucks, or kill the city's power lines? She joked lightly, running a hand through her hair. She would prefer it if he choose the power lines. It was harder to steal a car from the government then one would think.

As Emma waited for the shocking fringe on electro boy to flutter meaning he had begun talking, Emma's mind wandered to idle thoughts about what could happen during the raid. It was true, no matter how confident she could pretend to be to these recruits, this mission was quite high up there on the danger scale, and probably wouldn't be worth it considering the fact that majority of the new supers would probably just go run home and get picked up by Judah again at a later date. But still, the Resistance had to strike at Judah in every way they could at anytime they could, and this raid was one of those times.

Emma fingered the rim of her beer and bit her lip in thought. She hadn't worked with the supers for hire before personally. She hadn't had to really on them for backup. She had no idea really what their powers were or how skilled they were. Emma mentally face palmed. Yet again she had managed to maneuver her way into a situation where everything would probably rest on her shoulders and anything that could go wrong, probably would.

Emma blinked and came back from her reverie, taking another sip of her drink as she waited for the walking static machine across from her to answer her question.

He smiled and leaned back in his chair, pushing it up onto two legs. He wasn't truly sure which would work better, but he did know which was easier and safer. And for now, that would do just fine.

"I think I like your idea of using the power lines actually. Who knows... I may pick up some very interesting information..."

He put his finger to his lips and thought for a moment more as his hair fell back into his face. He had an idea, but, he wasn't sure of just how well it would work.

"I'm planning on disrupting any and all communications as well. No cell phones, no radios, no nothing. Just know, that if I do this, there is no such thing as calling for help. Maintain visual contact with each other."

Emma grinned back at Sir ShocksAlot.

"I think you'll find it's rather hard not to spot me once the fighting starts." Emma laughed.

"As for the powerlines, good choice. Stealing cars is not something my powers are very suited to. Emma added with a grin and mimed an explosion with her right hand by unfurling it out of a fist.

"So now that the plans are sorted, Why don't you guys go get ready whilst i go send the final details to the supers for hire crew. Once i know they get the message we can leave." Emma said whilst getting to her feet and sliding her hand into the palm scanner on the door so that she could leave, along with Shrap and electro boy.

Shrap frowned.
Uh, are we going to be in a jungle area, because if were going into a place with a bunch of tree's and stuff. I'll be near impossible to see. Shrap said.
He thought for a while,
I'll keep some flares on me.

Emma then opened the door.
Shrap walked out, stopping to say,
Thanks.

He walked to the top entrance. He put on his hood and put on some face paint, as he continued down the hall he put on some black and green face paint.

Alyss stood outside of Emma's room, after knocking the door, her hands folded elegantly behind her back. Her skin was almost glowing from the pure energy thriving in her body. Her arms were quivering so she clasped them tightly behind her to save her from clawing out the door.
Her fangs were retracted, but her mind was buzzing from the recent encounter with Wavelength and she was driven mad by the scent of blood from inside the room.
She shook her head to stop the pounding as Emma opened the door.
"Hello, Emma." she said, her voice strained. "I have just come to say that I will not be staying here tonight. There has been a sudden...matter arisen. Family. I need to go."

Emma opened the door just as someone outside it knocked. Emma internally sighed, looked like it was going to be a little longer before they could go on the raid.

However when the door slid open to reveal Alyss, Emma's eyes narrowed ever so slightly. The vampire girl was radiating energy and spoke hurriedly with lots of strain in her voice. Obviously there was something going on here that Emma should know about.

But before Emma could query the girl, Alyss explained vaguely what was going on. But even her explanation didn't seem right. She paused in all the wrong places and it felt to Emma that she was hiding something from her.

Then again, Emma wasn't sure she would want to force Alyss to stay down here in the Resistance HQ if she was as edgy as this. Alyss had once told her that she didn't feed on humans, but that didn't mean the urge wasn't still there.

"That's fine, just make sure you've got somewhere to stay. Wouldn't want you to get picked up by Judah now would we?" Emma smiled falsely before turning her attention to the exiting Shrap.

"Actually i believe the raid will take place in the city, but flares are always fun." Emma shrugged as Shrap walked away.

Alyss felt the throb of Emma's vein in her head and she hissed sharply, holding her head in her hands. She leant against the doorframe and her eyes turned darker as she clenched her hair in her fists. She wrenched upwards and slammed backwards into the wall on the opposite side of the hall.

For a moment there was still, until she stood up and smiled at Emma, an eerie calm between them.
"I'm sorry Emma." she said, hollow.
She lurched forwards and slammed into the other girl, knocking her down to the floor in her room. Looking down over the other girl, a hungry glint sprang forth in her eyes.
"Marshall's medical crap just isn't enough for me. And now I've tasted the real thing and oh, I want more. And Emma, you smell so, beautiful. I'm not really into female blood, but there's something...exceptional." she breathed, leaning down to Emma's neck. She held the other girls wrists down with her strong hands and kept her head down with her forehead. Her fangs elongated and she winked at Emma.

She looked into Emma's clear eyes and smiled before leaning down to her neck and violently thrusting her teeth into her jugular vein.

When Emma heard Alyss hiss behind her only one thing ran through her mind. Aw crap

Quickly Emma spun around in time to see Alyss throw herself against the far wall, clutching her head in her hands.

Emma stood poised, ready to defend herself against whatever Alyss was going to do, but the last thing she was expecting was for Alyss to look up and smile?

Emma paused in confusion, and that was when Alyss struck. She moved so fast Emma had a hard time keeping an eye on her!. As it was, she really didn't need her eyes. The pain flaring across her body from the impact said it all. She was trapped under a crazy vampire girl. Not a good thing no matter how you look at it.

As Emma's head cleared from the fog of impact, her eye's focused in on Alyss' just above her's. They were black with bloodlust. Crap.

"Marshall's medical crap just isn't enough for me. And now I've tasted the real thing and oh, I want more. And Emma, you smell so, beautiful. I'm not really into female blood, but there's something...exceptional." Alyss breathed as her focus moved from Emma's eyes, down to her throat.

So Alyss was a spy for Marshall. Figures.... Hang on, she wants more? Does that mean she attacked someone before coming and getting Emma? But more importantly, it sounded as though she wasn't hear for a snack, but a full blown meal. Not good for Emma.

Emma turned her head that small amount that she could with Alyss holding her down and caught one final glance from the girl. She smiled, then, before Emma could even gasp, she plunged her fangs deep into Emma's throat and oh how it burned!

Oh duh. Emma thought to herself with a mental facepalm. Quickly as she could feel Alyss sucking her blood from her throat much faster than she could think possible, Emma clenched her fists and caused her entire body to burst into flames. The force of the blast throwing Alyss from her, tearing her fangs out of Emma's neck.

Emma sat up with a gasp and clamped a hand over the gaping wound to her neck. It was deep. Too deep. Emma could feel her powers fading as she grew weaker. The dancing flames surrounding her body died down to slight flickers. She would have to end this quickly before she became to weak to use her powers properly.

Alyss hit the wall at a high impact, after being ripped from Emma's throat by a turbulent storm of flames. Her back cracked slightly as she hit the concrete but and she banged back down onto the floor.
She looked up at Emma from under her lashes, smiling. Emma's blood was dripping slowly down her chin and Alyss ran a finger up her skin and licked it clean away.

Her fangs still at full length she flitted onto her feet and laughed manically at Emma as the flames died slightly.
"What's the matter Boss? Underling hurt you?" she said, pouting her lips out sarcastically.

But the smell of the liquid seeping from Emma's neck was distracting. The voices in her head were screaming at her to get it, whereas tactically she knew she should wait.

"If you just give up now I can make it less painful." she said, smirking. "Or maybe you'd like to fight? Go Emma: fight with that hole in your neck."

She paused and stalked slightly towards the girl, her hands clenched. "Or, you could let me drink from you. Only a little. Then let me go. And you could live." she smiled widely, her fangs gleaming.

Emma glared angrily at Alyss as she licked the remaining drips of Emma's blood from her chin. It was just.... gross.

Emma tensed as Alyss suddenly appeared on her feet. Damn that girl was fast! And also somewhat crazy judging by the lunatic laughing.

Emma's only response to Alyss' taunt was to concentrate harder on her flames, causing them to spring back into life. It gave the illusion that she was stronger than she really was. It wouldn't work for long though, she would run out of energy soon and then she would be a sitting duck.

Emma sat in stoic silence as Alyss monologued in front of her. As her little speech drew to a close Emma climbed slowly to her feet, never taking her eyes off of Alyss'

"I'm giving you one warning. Leave the Resistance Head Quarters now, or i will reduce you to nothing more than a few ashes." She said coldly once she was standing, staring levelly at Alyss. She wasn't bluffing, she could do it. With one great surge of will she could turn this room into a firestorm, but if she did she'd be near catatonic when she finished. No, the best option was to keep the flames surrounding her body, that way Alyss couldn't get to her throat without being burned. She just have to fight using her blades or guns or something else.

Alyss smiled at Emma and cocked her head at the taunt. She stepped backwards and placed her hands behind her back, giving her a toothy grin.

"Well, if you put it like that...I do have more than enough civilians to kill outside. But the blood of a Super is just....wonderful. I would love to stay and kill you but I know that soon the Resistance won't be here. And I wouldn't want to be on this side when the dawn of war comes knocking at your door. The clock is ticking Captain, you'd best rally the troops." she hissed.

Alyss walked to the door and opened it, taking a look back at Emma as her long fangs retracted. The blood was still pounding away in her veins and Alyss felt so regnerated. "And when that day comes and we lead the armies against each other; I cannot wait to be the last face you see when you are removed from this Earth. And don't worry darling, I'll make it slow."

She moved from the room, trailing her fingers along the walls, leaving a long trail of bloody hand-prints before she closed the door behind her. Back to the Government Headquarters.

Emma stood as ridged as a statue as Alyss hissed threats at her then left with the promise of delivering a slow, painful death to Emma.

She didn't leave without leaving her mark in more ways than one. Ignoring the gaping wound on Emma's neck, there was the dented and cracked cement wall where Emma had thrown her, and there was now also a long trail of hand prints leading to Emma's door. But Emma realy couldn't care at the moment.

Quickly she let the flames around her body go out and staggered over to her dresser table where her mobile phone was lying.

"Guards this is Pyro, a former Resistance fighter by the name of Alyss Ray is on her way to the exit. Please escort her out but keep your distance. She is dangerous and no longer a part of the Resistance." Emma rasped into the phone which was connected to the guard station near the HQ exit.

She didn't wait for a response, instead falling down onto her bed and surrendering to exhaustion. The bite had been bad enough, but now that she had wasted all that energy on keeping her flames alive, she was now twice as bad as she should of been.

With some of her last remaining strength Emma reached up and drew a pillow up to her neck so it could do the job of trying to stop the blood flow, before she closed her eyes and fell into unconsciousness.

Shrap was flipping his camo suit inside out, near the bottom entrance, one side was Forest Camo the other was Urban, his Desert Camo is in his backpack. He finished putting it on, and then he put his rifle on his shoulder and picked up his M16.


"Guards this is Pyro, a former Resistance fighter by the name of Alyss Ray is on her way to the exit. Please escort her out but keep your distance. She is dangerous and no longer a part of the Resistance." Emma rasped.

Shrap looked at the speaker, he frowned.
She sounds hurt...she was fine during the briefing... Shrap thought.

He sprinted back to the door. He eventually reached it and tried opening it, placing a hand on the lock. It did not work, he cursed. He pulled out 4 white squares. he placed them on the door, Shrap stepped aside and the squares beeped. The next second, they detonated. Not even close to make the door fly, but the door fell over. Through the smoke Shrap ran in with his M16 ready. He looked around, there was blood on the floor, and Emma was on the bed. Blood all over her pillow. He holstered his gun and ran to her side, she was out cold. He flipped her over and saw 2 holes on her neck. He frowned.
He took off his backpack and pulled out his medical supplies, his last bandages and such. He cleaned her wound and bandaged it. He placed his weapons and backpack on the table and began to clean her room. After cleaning all the blood, he looked at the door and the wall.
He sighed,
Aw hell no...forget that, im not fixing the door and wall. Shrap said. He sat down at the table and waited.

Xzuk walked in calmy after about a half hour after the incedent. He had finally awoken from his comatose sleep from earlier. He was careful to hide the fangs bites in his neck. As he walked in, he tried to seem calm and somewhat collected, but he already knew what had happened, but he couldn't help but feel that it was partly his fault. Why hadn't he just denied the girl a second chance at redeeming herself?

She did try to kill me.. Why did I let her go? I could have taken her out right there... But no, I made a simple mistake and this is what happens... one of The Council is injured... all because of my stupidity... Jeez... But, she was cute... wait.. is that even a good excuse?

He paused for a moment and looked around at all of the blood stains, scorch marks, handprints and decimated door hinges. The room itself was rather clean, he guessed it was Shrap's doing, but the blood would never leave the walls. He stood and placed his palm over the bloody palm print and traced it away as it faded and he sighed.

"You know, Shrap, I bet the door was unlocked. But, I like explosives too. So, good job."

"You know, Shrap, I bet the door was unlocked. But, I like explosives too. So, good job." Xzuk said,

Nah, door was locked. Was. Shrap said, he smiled a bit.
He walked over to Emma and took off his gloves, he took off the bandage and examined the wound once again, still open. Shrap frowned, he put a new bandage on. He also put a blanket on Emma, and put a new pillow on the bed. He sat down on the floor.

Damn, the mission hasn't even started and we have one wounded... Shrap thought.

He turned and looked away from the blood on the walls and put a smile on his face. He placed a palm over his own open wound and rubbed it slightly. It wasn't like there was any pain emmitting from the area, but still, he didn't want to chance Shrap seeing it.

"So, where'd she go? I'll settle the score."

His smile widened as small bolts of static ran through his eyes and over his teeth. He wasn't mad, but he wasn't happy either. He wouldn't kill the Vampire, because she was far too rare to kill, but also, far too lucky to live without a regret. All he had to do was teach her that payback was a bitch and he'd be satisfied.
